Prof. Dr. Niranjan Kumar

Prof. Niranjan Kumar, MBBS, M.S. (Gen.Surg.), M.Ch.(Plastic Surgery), FRCS, joined SDM College of Medical Sciences & Hospital as Medical Director in 2004. He presntly heads both the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the Craniofacial Unit attached to the department.

After having completed his MBBS & MS (Gen.Surg.) from KMC, Mangalore and M.Ch. (Plastic Surgery) from Madras Medical College, he joined Manipal Hospital, Bangalore as Consultant and Head of the department of Plastic Surgery where he established the Micro Vascular Surgery & Neuro plastica unit, a Craniofacial & Skull Base Surgery Unit, in 1993.He was awarded FRCS in Plastic Surgery in 2013 from Royal College of Surgeons, London, United Kingdom.
A prolific writer and having immense artistic talent he is a giant among equals and indeed a great boon to SDM.

Prof.Dr.Shyamsundar Joshi, MBBS, MD (PGI), DMRD,heads the Department of Radiology at SDM. He is an excellent clinician and a dedicated academician, and has served in the field of radiology for over 35 years till date. As a student,he ranked 1st in the M.D. exams at PGI, Chandigarh.
His brilliance comes through in his enthusiasm and dedication to Radiology always wanting to generously share his deep knowledge to students and established clinicians, practicioners or radiologists alike.
He is credited with starting and developing the imaging departments in many medical colleges during his tenure. His has done extraordinary work in ultrasound imaging with extensive research in cheek and oral cavity ultrasound. Apart from this, his work in the field of research and innumerable publications makes him a truly distinguished personality.
